Release Notes
What's new and improved in each version of FL Profile Scanner.
May 2026
New Features
- Start a scan from any page (Prowler & Dominant) — A new Start at Page field in the popup lets you skip ahead and begin scanning from any page number rather than always starting at page 1. Defaults to page 1, so nothing changes for typical scans. "Pages to Scan" remains a count — if you set Start = 51 and Pages to Scan = 100, the scanner covers pages 51 through 150 (a full 100 pages worth, starting from page 51). Useful for jumping past previously-scanned content or testing filters on later pages.
- Continue where your last scan left off (Prowler & Dominant) — When you open the popup on a page you've scanned before, a green notice appears with a button reading Continue from page X (X is the actual page number that comes right after your last scan). Click it and the scanner picks up exactly where the previous scan ended — and the new profiles are added to the original scan's report rather than stored as a separate scan. A combined-scan banner at the top of the report shows which page ranges were scanned in each batch. Optional batch filter chips let you view just the new batch's results, just the original batch's results, or all combined.
- New tutorials with NEW badges — The in-extension How-To page has two new tutorial entries marked with a small "✨ New" badge: one explaining Start-at-Page and one walking through Continue-scan step-by-step, both with realistic popup-style mockups. Clicking the new What is this? link in the popup jumps straight to the matching tutorial section and auto-expands it.
Bug Fixes
- Strict filters no longer end scans early — Fixed a bug where scans with ultra-specific filters (e.g., a rare role combined with a narrow age range in a small city) would terminate after 5 consecutive pages of zero matches — even though those pages were full of real profiles that simply didn't match the filter. The early-stop logic now correctly distinguishes "page has profiles but none match my filters" (keep scanning) from "page has no profiles at all" (stop).
- Pages-to-Scan count is now literal — Fixed an off-by-N bug where starting a scan from a page other than 1 (via Continue or manual Start-at-Page) would stop early. "Pages to Scan" now always means "scan exactly this many pages," regardless of where you started.
- Better "no results" guidance — When a scan returns zero matches, the report now suggests easing your filters and offers a one-click link to file a bug report if you believe results are missing in error.
- Clearer Continue button wording — Replaced confusing "N+1" math notation everywhere it appeared in the UI and tutorials with plain language and concrete page numbers ("Continue from page 101" instead of "Continue from page N+1").
Improvements
- "What is this?" inline help links — Added next to the Start-at-Page field and inside the Continue notice. Both open the in-extension tutorial, scroll to the relevant section, and auto-expand it.
- Affiliation disclaimers everywhere — Disclaimers appear in the popup footer, the bottom of every extension page (account, onboarding, tutorials, report, privacy policy), and the home-page hero block on nexlov.com, making it clear this is an unofficial third-party tool.
- Stripe webhook hardening — Server-side handler updated to handle subscription-status edge cases on newer Stripe API versions and tolerate out-of-order event delivery for new subscriptions.
- CDN CSP warning silenced — Added FetLife's static-asset host to the extension's Content Security Policy so the rare missing-avatar fallback no longer logs a CSP violation in DevTools.

New Features
- Group Member Scanning — Scan any FetLife group's member list, just like you scan a city or fetish page. Auto-fixes the URL if you're on a group's main page. Scan history labels these reports as "Groups > Group Name" to distinguish them from city and fetish scans.
- Set Reminders to Follow Up — A new ⏰ Remind Me button on every profile card lets you schedule a follow-up alert. Pick from quick presets (In 1 hour, Tomorrow, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month) or a custom date/time, add an optional note, and you'll get a system notification when the time comes. The extension icon shows a badge count of pending reminders. A new Reminders section at the top of the report displays each alert as a full rich profile card that you can collapse to save space. A gentle sparkle marks reminders the first time you see them. Persists across restarts, survives scan cleanup.
- Add Profiles Manually — A new + Add Profile button in the Favorites, Contacted, Notes, and Tagged tabs lets you add any FetLife profile by URL or username, even if it never appeared in a scan. The extension fetches the photo, ASL, and location to build a card that looks just like scanned profiles. Manually-added cards are marked ADDED MANUALLY in the top-right corner and include links to the user's pictures, videos, and writings.
- Follow on FetLife from the extension — Every profile card now has a red Follow on Fetlife button that performs the real FetLife follow action (no more fake buttons that don't do anything). One click and the extension handles it in the background; the button turns green and stays that way across reloads.
- Rich cards persist for saved profiles — Favorited, contacted, tagged, noted, and reminder-scheduled profiles keep their full photo and ASL card even after the originating scan is cycled out of history. A one-time backfill runs on first launch to preserve cards for your existing saved profiles.
Bug Fixes
- Reports now show all profiles — Fixed a regression where the scan report could display only a single profile (or a small fraction) even when the scan captured hundreds. Every profile found is now shown reliably.
- Scan counts are accurate again — Fixed an issue that could silently drop most of a scan's profiles on long scans. A 120-page scan that previously returned only 50–60 profiles now returns the full set.
- Group scans stop correctly — Scanning group pages will no longer run through hundreds of empty pages past the end of the member list. The scanner now reliably stops after 5 consecutive empty pages regardless of page type.
- Partial scan recovery — If you accidentally close the scan tab mid-scan, the extension now finalizes whatever was captured and opens the report, instead of discarding the work. Momentary page-load delays do not trigger false stops.
- Non-functional buttons stripped — FetLife's native Follow / Add as Friend / Message buttons captured in scanned widgets are now removed when cards render, so there are no misleading buttons. Our own action buttons (including the working Follow on Fetlife) remain.
- Age filter hardened — The age filter now rejects invalid values like "222" or blank fields, and auto-swaps the range if min is set higher than max.
Improvements
- Profile photo sizing is consistent — Scanned and manually-added profiles now render at the same card size.
- Media links on every card — Pictures, videos, and writings counts with click-through to FetLife, shown on manually-added cards.
- Consistent "Remove" labels — The Contacted tab's delete action is now labeled "Remove from Contacted" to match the Favorites tab.
- Clearer error messages — "Not on a valid page" now mentions Group Members pages alongside Kinksters and Fetish pages.
- Backend infrastructure — All API calls now served from nexlov.com.
